This family wanted a floral, old world feeling, cottage style garden. Their backyard was a blank slate and they wanted to enliven it with all the good things plants can bring: pollinators, birds, scent, colour, and privacy. With limited space, a well-thought out plant palette was essential. Also, there was a consideration for year-round interest while also making most of the space functionally. Fruit trees and a small area for vegetables was also on the wish list.
